Kew Band Melbourne is one of Australia’s premier brass bands, performing at a range of concerts, community and corporate events. Formed in 1925, the band has a long history of excellence in music and strong links with the local community.
We have a regular program of concerts scheduled throughout the year and frequently compete against other brass bands at venues around the country. Our friendly, sociable and accomplished ensemble always welcomes brass and percussion players.
Kew Band Melbourne have enjoyed outstanding success on the competition stage, winning the 2011, 2000 & 1998 National Championships and placing second in 2009 & 2007. The band also won the 2009 Yamaha Australasian Open Championships and were runners up in the Entertainment section in 2011 & 2010.
Kew Band Melbourne is seen by audiences of over 100,000 people at events such as the ANZAC Day parade (Melbourne) and the AFL Grand Final parade. They have performed at international sporting matches, benefit concerts, and worked with a number of events companies to stage corporate events. Kew Band has been featured on ‘Strike up the Band’ program on ABC Classic FM, Derek Guille’s ‘The Evening Show’ Brass Band Competition for 774 ABC radio and many other radio stations.
